LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE.Step 1.Start engine and operate at idle speed for three minutes.Tell assistant to listen for abnormal engine noises.a. If abnormal engine noises are heard, go to Malfunction 5, page2-21.b. If abnormal engine noises are not heard, go to step 2 below.Step 2. Perform engine compression check (page 3-12).a. If compression check readings are low, notify general supportmaintenance to replace piston rings (page 4-42).b. If compression check readings are normal, go to step 3 below.Step 3.Remove valve covers and rocker arm assemblies (page 3-60).Disassemble rocker arm assemblies (page 3-65).Using bore gage and micrometer, measure inside diameter of rockerarms.Inside diameter should be not more than 0.8755 inch.a. Replace a rocker arm if inside diameter is more than 0.8755inch. Reassemble (page 3-69) and install rocker arm assembly andvalve covers (page 3-71).NOTEBe sure you reassemble rocker arm assemblies correctly as described onpage 3-69. Failure to do so will cause high oil consumption.b. If rocker arms are okay, go to step 4 below.2-35
