LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE (Cont).Step 9.Remove two splined head screws securing connecting rod cap.Remove connecting rod cap.Place a piece of plastigage on insert in connecting rod cap.Put clean OE/HDO 30 lubricating oil on threads and under heads ofsplined head screws.Install connecting rod cap and secure using two splined head screws.Tighten to 95 to 105 lb-ft.Remove two splined head screws securing connecting rod cap.Remove connecting rod cap and measureclearance indicated by width of com-pressed plastigage. Clearance must be0.0011 to 0.0046 inch.a. If clearance exceeds 0.0046 inch,new inserts must be installed(page 4-42).b. If clearance is 0.0011 to 0.0046inch, put clean OE/HDO 30 lubrica-ting oil on threads and underheads of splined head screws.2-39
