Remove hydraulic reservoir fill cap.
Connect vacuum pump to fill cap
opening. Start vacuum pump.
Remove hydraulic reservoir drain plug
(refer to TM 5-3805-262-20).
valve from fitting kit in drain plug
port. Be sure valve is closed.
Stop vacuum pump.
Connect inlet hose of portable
filter to valve installed in
drain plug port.
Disconnect vacuum pump from fill
cap opening.
Connect portable filter outlet hose to tube from fitting kit. Insert tube
through fill cap opening until it bottoms in hydraulic reservoir.
Open valve at drain plug port.
Set portable filter switch to ON position. Start and operate engine at
1500 rpm.
During first 10 minutes of portable filter operation, use tube in fill
cap opening to mix oil in hydraulic reservoir.
While portable filter continues to operate, increase engine speed to full
throttle. Continue to operate portable filter and operate engine at full
throttle while doing steps (15) and (16) below.
If necessary, heat hydraulic
oil to operating temperature.
Do this by holding BUCKET con-
trol lever in CROWD position
for 15 seconds then putting it
in NEUT. position for 30 sec-
onds. Repeat until tube is warm
to touch.
Extend and retract all hydraulic
cylinders by operating LIFT ARM
control lever for two complete
cycles. Then operate BUCKET con-
trol lever and CLAM control lever
for two complete cycles. Do this
for 45 minutes.
