Cylinder
heads removed (page 3-45), oil pan
removed (page 3-89), and oil pump
suction tube disconnected from oil
pump (page 3-92).
REMOVAL (SHEET 1 OF 3)

Check side clearance of each
connecting rod (2) using thick-
ness gage. Side clearance shall
be between 0.007 to 0.016 inch.
If side clearance exceeds 0.016
inch, replace connecting rod
(2). If side clearance is less
than 0.007 inch, regrind crank-
shaft (page 4-23).
