Place each new piston ring (4
thru 6) in cylinder sleeve and
measure end gap using thickness
gage. If top compression ring
(4) end gap is not 0.015 to
0.030 inch, discard it and
install new compression ring.
If compression ring (5) end gap
is not 0.013 to 0.028 inch,
discard it and install new
ring. If oil ring (6) end gap
is not 0.016 to 0.031 inch,

discard it and use new
Use piston ring expander to
damaging rings or piston.
install piston rings (4 thru 6) to prevent

Install piston rings (4 thru 6) on piston (3) using piston ring expander.

Rotate piston rings (4 thru 6) so that ring end gaps are 120 degrees
apart.
