WARN I N G
Two personnel are required to perform flowmeter tests for safety and to avoid possible
injury. One must be seated in the operator's seat with seat belt on while engine is running.
The other is to control flowmeter and take readings. Failure to follow this warning may
cause injury or death to personnel.
1. General Information.
The flowmeter measures volume, pressure, and temperature of hydraulic oil.
2. There is a check sheet at the end of this section (Figure 36, page 35). Make copies of check sheet to record
test results.

(2) Ensure oil level in hydraulic reservoir is correct (LO 5-3805-292-13).
(3) Oil must be at operating temperature. If oil is not at operating temperature:
(a) Run engine at full throttle.
(b) Hold auxiliary hydraulic flow control pedal in ON position (TM 5-3805-292-10) and have assistant
close pressure valve of flowmeter until pressure gauge indicates 1,500 psi (103 bar).
(c) Continue to run engine at full throttle until temperature of oil is 125 (52C).
