STEERING HIGH PRESSURE STALL TEST CONTINUED
8. Turn battery disconnect switch to ON position and start engine (TM 5-3805-298-10).
9. Run engine at high idle (2,450 rpm) (TM 5-3805-298-10).
10. Raise work tool from ground (TM 5-3805-298-10).
WARNING
In the following steps the steering of the machine will move left and right, clear machine
and area of all personnel. Check visibility and adjust mirrors for best vision close to the
machine. Fasten your seatbelt securely whenever in the cab and operating the machine.
Empty bucket of all material. Park machine in an open area on level ground. Failure to
follow this warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
11. Have an assistant turn the steering wheel to the left until left steering stop is reached, then continue to turn
steering wheel to the left (TM 5-3805-298-10).
12. Record the pressure on the 3,600 psi (25,000 kPa) gauge (Figure 15, Item 1).
13. Pressure reading should be 2,995 51 psi (20,650 350 kPa).
14. Have an assistant turn the steering wheel to the right until right steering stop is reached, then continue to turn
steering wheel to the right (TM 5-3805-298-10).
15. Record the pressure on the 3,600 psi (25,000 kPa) gauge (Figure 15, Item 1).
16. Pressure reading should be 2,995 51 psi (20,650 350 kPa).
17. Lower work tool to the ground (TM 5-3805-298-10).
18. Run machine at low idle (TM 5-3805-298-10).
19. Turn ignition switch and battery disconnect switch to OFF position (TM 5-3805-298-10).
20. Disconnect hose 177-7861 (Figure 15, Item 2) from fitting (Figure 14, Item 2) on pressure reducing valve
(Figure 14, Item 3).
21. Install cap (Figure 14, Item 1) on fitting (Figure 14, Item 2) of pressure reducing valve (Figure 14, Item 3).
22. Install right lower cab access panels (WP 0347).
