CLEANING AND INSPECTION

1. Clean and inspect all components IAW Mechanical General Maintenance Instructions (WP 0172).
2. Remove cylinder head from engine (WP 0180).
3. Inspect cylinder head (Figure 10) for signs of combustion gas or Class III coolant leakage.
4. Use a straightedge and feeler gauge to test cylinder head for flatness.
a. Measure from side to side (A). Maximum permissible distortion is 0.0012 in. (0.03 mm).
b. Measure from end to end (B). Maximum permissible distortion is 0.0020 in. (0.05 mm).
c.
Measure from corner to corner (C). Maximum permissible distortion is 0.0020 in. (0.05 mm).
